1. Before 1752, when the Gregorian replaced the Julian calendar, dates from January through March 24 are given in Old Style (e.g. 14 February 1722/23). The English Calendar (New Style) Act of 1750 took effect in 1752, with the day following September 2 becoming September 14 and the year 1753 began on the following January 1 (An Act for Regulating the Commencement of the Year; and for the Correcting the Calendar now in Use).

The Calvert Papers is a collection of over 1300 documents containing the official and personal papers of the six Lords Baltimore and other members of the Calvert family, proprietors of the colony of Maryland.
