LOCAL DEPARTMENTS OF TRANSPORTATION

[photo, School buses at Stephen Decatur High School, 9913 Seahawk Road, Berlin, Maryland] Local transit services are offered for most counties either through local government or a private, nonprofit corporation designated by the county. Most counties provide transportation services for seniors and people with disabilities through the county transportation department, or the local
agency on aging.

For students at a distance, local departments of education provide bus transportation to elementary, middle and high schools.
