540 Jan.ry 3.d 1765 Received from Cap.t William Strachan Twenty pounds pensilvania Money it being the Consideration of ^for^ the within bargained Land and premisses James Dick W.m Steuart Tho.s Gassaway Jan.ry 3.d 1765 then came before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for Ann Arundell County James Dick Surviving Executor of the last Will and Testament of William Peele Dece'd who acknowledged the within Instrument of writing and the Land and premisses therein mentioned to be the Estate and title of the within ment.d William Strachan according to the true Intent and meaning thereof and Conformable to the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided W.m Steuart Tho.s Gassaway 1785 April 18 Received of Cap.n William Strachan four Shillings for the use of the Lord Baltimore being the Alienation Fine on the within Land by virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General Benj.a Beall Recorded the 19.th day of April 1765 4 1/2 Ex.d Maryland This Indenture made the third day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and sixty five Between James Dick Surviving Executor of the last Will and Testament of W.m Peele late of Ann arundel County dec'd of the one part and William Strachan of the other part Witnesseth that the said James Dick Executor as aforesaid under the power and Authority & in virtue of the last Will and Testament of the said William Peele deceased for and in Consideration of the sum of Thirty pounds Current Money to him in hand paid at and before the Ensealing & delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and himself as Executor aforesaid to be therewith fully Satisfied Contented and paid Have and by these presents Do Give Grant bargain sell alien enfeaffe and Confirm unto the said William Strachan his Heirs and Assigns for ever all that Tract of Land called Sympsons Storus situate lying and being in Ann Arundel County near Harington Containing One hundred and fifty three Acres of Land be the same more or less together with all and Singular the premises and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any ways whatsoever thereto appertaining to him the said William Strachan To have and to hold to him the said William Strachan his Heirs and Assigns for ever the said Land together with all and singular the Premisses and appurtenances thereto in any ways whatsoever belonging In witness whereof the said James Dick hath hereunto set his Hand and Affixed his Seal the day and year above written James Dick seal Signd sealed & Deliverd in the presence of us W.m Steuart Tho.s Gassaway On the back of the aforegoing Deed it is thus written Viz.t Jan.ry 3.d 1765 Received from W.m Strachan thirty pounds Pensilvania Currency it being the Consideration for the within bargained Land and Premises James Dick W.m Steuart Tho.s Gassaway January |
