539 On the Back of the aforegoing Deed it is thus written Viz.t Received this 30.th day of March 1765 of Nicholas Aldridge the sum sterling of One hundred pounds sterling the Consideration Exprest in the within Deed £100 Witness Will.m Aldridge Will.m Lux Ann arundel County fs.t On the 30.th day of March 1765 came the within named William Aldridge before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the within Instrument to be his Act and Deed and the Lands and premises therein mentioned to be the Right & Estate of the within named Nicholas Aldridge his Heirs & Assigns for ever according to the true Intent and meaning thereof and the Act of Assembly in that Case made and Provided and at the same time came Mary the Wife of the said William and being by us privately Examined out of the hearing of her said husband acknowledged her right of Dower and that she did it of her free and Voluntary Will and Consent without being Compelled by any threats from her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure Taken and acknowledged before Will.m Lux H Ridgely 18.th April 1765 Received of Nicholas Aldridge Nine shillings and three pence half penny sterling for the use of the Lord Baltimore being the Alienation Fine on the within Land by Virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General Benj.a Beall Recorded the 18.th day of April 1765 10 1/2 Ex.d Maryland This Indenture made the third day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and sixty five Between James Dick surviving Executor of the Last Will and Testament of William Peele late of Ann Arundel County decd of the one part and William Strachan of the other part witnesseth that the said James Dick Executor as aforesaid under the power and Authority and in virtue of the last Will & Testament of the said William Peele deceas'd for and in Consideration of the sum of Thirty ^Twenty^ pounds Current Money to them in hand paid at and before the ensealing and delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and himself as Executor aforesaid to be therewith fully satisfied and Contented and paid Have and by these Presents Do give Grant Bargain sell alien infeoffe and Confirm unto the said William Strachan his heirs and Assigns for ever all that Tract of Land called Batchellors Choice situate lying and being in Ann Arundel County on the South side of the main falls of Patapsico River Containing One hundred Acres be the same more or less together with all and singular the Premisses and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any ways whatsoever thereto appertaining to him the said William Strachan To have and to hold to him the said William Strachan his Heirs and Assigns for ever the said Tract of Land together with all and singular the premisses and appurtenances thereto in any ways whatsoever belonging In Witness whereof the said James Dick hath hereunto set his Hand and Affixed his Seal the day and year above written Sign'd sealed and Delivered James Dick seal In the presence of us W.m Steuart On the Back of the aforegoing Deed it is written as followeth Viz.t Tho.s Gassaway Jan.ry |
