Ex.d This Indenture made this twenty first day of August in the Year of our Lord
       Seventeen hundred and Sixty four  Between Col.o Charles Hammond Jun.r
       of Ann Arundel County of the one Part and John Hammond of the County af.d
       of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Charles for and in Consideration of
       the Affection which he beareth unto s.d John his Brother as also for the Valuable
       Consideration of Five shillings Currency to him the said Charles by s.d John in
       Hand being well and Truly Paid at and upon the ensealing and Delivery of these
       Presents the receipt whereof the said Charles Carroll Doth hereby Acknowledge
       and therewith Confess himself to be Content and Satisfyed  He the said
       Charles Hath Granted Bargained and Sold conveyed and Confirmed
       and doth by these Presents for himself and his Heirs &C.a Grant Bargain
       and Sell Convey and Confirm unto John Hammond his Heirs and Assigns
       forever all his the s.d Charles's sixth Part or Portion of Property
       of in and to the s.d Charles's sixth Part or Portion of Property of in and
       to the Lott of Ground lying in Cecil County af.d the City of Annapolis near
       the Town Gate with all and Singular the Appurtenances and Improvements
       unto said Lott of Land in the City af.d being called or known by
       the name of Hammonds Town Lott Land or Acton together with all its
       Appurtenances and Improvements of every kind and which lately of ^with^ the
       Lott of Ground in the City af.d was in the Tenure and Occupation of Philip
       Hammond Esq lately Deceased To have and to hold the s.d Charles's
       Part of the af.d Lott of Ground in the City of Annapolis af.d and Tract of
       Land without the City af.d whiet with each and every of the appurtenances
       and Improvements belonging unto each of the Premises af.d unto s.d John
       Hammond his Heirs and Assigns forever to to and for his and their Sole
       and Proper use and behoof and for none other whatsoever  And the said
       Charles Hammond doth hereby moreover for the Good and Valuable Consideration
       above expressed also Grant Bargain and Sell Convey & Confirm
       and hath Granted Bargained and Sold Conveyed and Confirmed by these
       Presents unto s.d John ^Hammond^ his Heirs and Assigns forever to and for his &
       their own Proper use and behoof as af.d the following Parcell of Land
       being Part of a Tra^c^t of Land called Hannover lying at the Elkridge
       Landing and meted and Bounded for said Johns Part thereof as follows
