367 On the Twenty first day of May 1764 Came the within named Isaac Risteau party to the within Deed and Acknowledged the same to be his Act and the Land and Premisses therein ^within^ mentioned to be the Right Title Interest and Estate of the within named Phillip Darnall his Heirs and Assigns forever and at the same time Came M.rs Eliz.a Risteau Wife of the affores.d Isaac Risteau who being Secretly examined out of the hearing of her Husband did Declare that She of her own Voluntary Choice and without being Induced thereto through threats or fear of her Husbands Displeasure Acknowledged her Right of Dower to the within mentioned bargained Land and Premices to be the right Title and Estate of the affores.d Phillip Darnall his Heirs and Assigns forever before us two of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for Baltimore County Th.s Franklin Received of M.r ^Philip^ Darnall one Penny W.m Smith half Penny Sterling for the use of the Lord Baltimore being the Alienation fine on the within three Acres of Land by Virtue of a Commission from Edw.d Lloyd Esq his said Lordships Agent and Recorded the 21.st July 1764 Receiver General Benj.a Beall 7 sd x.d This Indenture made this tenth day of July in the Year of our Lord Christ One Thousand seven hundred Sixty four Between Hopewell Keene of Queen Anns County in the Province of Maryland Gentleman and Sarah his Wife of the one Part And James Smith of Calvert County in the Province of Maryland aforesaid Weaver of the other Part Witnesseth that the aforesaid Hopewell and Sarah his Wife for and in Consideration of the sum of Twenty five Pounds Sterling to them in Hand Paid by the aforesaid James Smith att and before the Sealing and Delivery (of) |
