NO. 17.
A Joint Resolution authorizing and requesting the State
Roads Commission to proceed with the repairing of the
Philadelphia Road as now located from the Baltimore
City Line to Aberdeen, Harford County.
WHEREAS, the condition of the Philadelphia Road be-
tween the Baltimore City line and Aberdeen being such
that travel thereon with any degree of safety, to which the
citizen is entitled, is impossible; and
WHEREAS, the Philadelphia Road is used by many School
children, whose lives are constantly endangered; therefore
be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
State Roads Commission be and it is hereby authorized and
requested to proceed at once with the repairs of the said
Philadelphia Road in such a manner that the said road will
be safe for travel, the cost of same to be paid out of such
funds as are now or may come into the hands of said State
Roads Commission for roads purposes.

NO. 18.
A Joint Resolution requesting the Governor to appoint a
commission to investigate and report as to the advis-
ability of extending Patapsco Avenue, west of Hanover
Street, to the Washington Boulevard.
WHEREAS, the construction of the dual highway towards
Annapolis, as well as other road constructions and exten-
sions, will greatly increase the present congestion of traffic
which passes through Brooklyn; and
WHEREAS, it has been repeatedly suggested that Patapsco
Avenue should be extended west from Hanover Street to
connect with the Washington Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, it may be possible to secure some Federal
funds in connection with Public Works Projects for con-
structing said extension at this time; therefore
