CHARTER AMENDMENT

Question A:
REVENUE CAP
(amends sec. 614)

To amend the County Charter to lift the cap on revenues generated by real estate taxes from 2% to 2.5% while eliminating Consumer Price Index - Urban (CPI - U) as a lesser alternative cap; authorize a temporary increase above the 2.5% cap of one cent ($0.01) per one hundred dollars of assessed value in each of the four fiscal years beginning July 1, 2019; and, clarify that the County’s taxable base and real estate tax revenues are calculated with reference to the State’s Constant Yield Tax Rate Certification.
