Annual Report to Governor due Dec. 1 (Executive Order 01.01.2024.19).

On June 4, 2024, the Governor established the Governor's Subcabinet on Climate (Executive Order 01.01.2024.19).

The Subcabinet was formed to address climate change and coordinate State agency efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, in accordance with Maryland's Climate Pollution Reduction Plan. The Subcabinet will pursue federal funding opportunities for State climate programs and ensure application of the federal Justice40 Initiative through federal funds (U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14008, January 27, 2021). The Justice40 Initiative directs 40 percent of the overall benefits of certain federal investments (including those in clean energy & energy efficiency; clean transit; affordable & sustainable housing; training & workforce development; remediation & reduction of legacy pollution; & development of clean water infrastructure) to flow to disadvantaged communities.
