Caroline County Circuit Court, Certificates of Freedom, 1857-1864

and raised in Caroline County & has a Scar on her left
rist and one on her face (left side) & has no Caused by
a burn.   In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe
(Seal)   my name and affix the seal of the Circuit Court
for Caroline County this 4th December A. D. 1860

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit:   Whereas Elizabeth Wilson
hath made application to me for a Certificate of her freedom agreeably
to law:  and whereas on the Oath of Thomas J Earickson hath
been proven that said Elizabeth Wilson was free born.  I do therefore
grant this Certificate. She is now about Seventy Six Years of age
five feet five and one half inches high or thereabouts of a Mulatto
Complexion was born and raised in Caroline County & has no
notable marks or Scars that I have observed.   In Testimony
whereof I hereunto Subscribe my name and affix the Seal of the
(Seal)   Circuit Court for Caroline County this 6th day of
December A D 1860

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit:  Whereas Joseph I Collins
hath made application to me for a Certificate of his freedom agreeably
to law and whereas on the oath of WIlliam Loockerman hath been
proven that Said Joseph I. Collins was free born  I do therefore
grant this Certificate,  He is now about Twenty three Years of
age five feet Eight inches high or thereabouts of a light Chesnut
Complexion was born and raised in Caroline County and
has no notable marks or Scars that I have observed
(Seal)   In Testimony Whereof I hereunto Subscribe my name and affix the Seal of
the Circuit Court for Caroline County this 11th December A D 1860
