    State of Maryland
Caroline County to wit:      Whereas Mary Ellen Willson hath
made application to me for a Certificate of her freedom agreeably
to law:  and whereas on the affirmation of William A. Barton hath
been proven that said Mary Ellen Willson was free born.  I do therefore
grant this Certificate.  She is now about twenty two years of
age five feet four and three quarter inches high or thereabouts of a
Mulatto Complexion was born and raised in Caroline County
and has no notable marks of scars that I have observed
             In Testimony Whereof I hereunto Subscribe my name
             and affix the Seal of the Circuit Court for Caroline
[Seal]    County this Twenty ninth day of October Anno Domini
             Eighteen Hundred and Sixty
                                                          Robert J Jump Clerk
                                                                         of the
                                                          Circuit Court for Caroline County


State of Maryland Caroline County to wit:  Whereas Margaret
Jane Prattis hath made application to me for a Certificate of her freedom
agreeably to law:  And whereas on the Oath of James Hignutt hath
been proven that Said Margaret Jane Prattis was free born I
do therefore grant this Certificate.  She is now about nineteen
years of age five feet five and one half inches high or thereabouts of
a Mulatto Complexion was born and raised in Caroline COunty
and has no marks or scars that I have observed
             In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Subscribed
             My name and affix the Seal of the Circuit Court of
[Seal]    Caroline County this 2.nd day of November Anno
                Domini Eighteen Hundred and Sixty
                                                          Robert J Jump Clk
