99 State of Maryland of the one part and Philemon S Wales of the same County and State of the other part Whereas the said Levin Hubbard owes and stands justly indebted to the said Philemon S. Wales in the sum of one hundred dollars current money and to secure the payment thereof is willing to execute these presents Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Levin Hubbard for and in consideration of the premises and of the sum of five dollars current money to him in hand paid by the said Philemon S Wales at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Philemon S Wales his executors administrators and assigns all and singular the Ship or vessel called the Spy of Annapolis and the appertenances thereunto belonging. To Have and To Hold all and singular the said Schooner called Chespy of Annapolis and the appertenances thereunto belonging unto the said Philemon S Wales his Executors administrators and assigns to his and their own use and behoof. Provided always and it is declared to be the true intent and meaning of these presents that if the said Levin Hubbard do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Philemon S Wales his Executors administrators or assigns the full sum of one hundred dollars with legal interest for the same on or before the first day of January eighteen hundred and forty eight then and in such case these presents and every matter and thing herein contained shall cease and determine and be utterly void to all intents and purposes anything herein contained to the contrary notwithstanding. And the said Levin Hubbard for himself his heirs Executors or administrators shall and will well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Philemon S Wales his executors administrators or assigns the said sum of one hundred Dollars current money together with interest for the same after the manner aforesaid at such time as herein set forth and agreed for the payment thereof In Witness whereof the said Levin Hubbard has hereunto set his hand and seal this day and year first above written Signed Sealed and delivered Levin Hubbard (seal) in presence of John Edw Stalker J.
