and assigns with power and authority to her whenever hereafter she
may deem fit and in such manner and on such terms as she shall
deem expedient to sell the aforesaid personal property and the
proceeds thereof after defraying the expenses attending said sale apply
to the payment of the rents now due and in arrears from me my
executors or administrators or assigns and such other rent as may hereafter
become due and in arrear from me my executors or administrators
as tenants aforesaid and the surplus thereof to pay over to myself my
executors or assigns it is understood that until the said Hester
A Chase her executors administrators or assigns shall determine to sell
said property for the purpose aforesaid the same shall remain in
my possession without waste or destruction unless the said Hester
A Chase shall consent thereto  In Witness whereof I have hereto set my
hand and seal this 18.th day of October eighteen hundred and forty

At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit

       Anne Arundel County to wit on this 18.th day of October 1845
before me the Subscriber a justice of the peace in and for the said
County personally appeared the above named Ben Toogood and
acknowledge the foregoing instrument of writing to be his act
and deed               Acknowledged before   W.m Glover
       Recorded the 17.th day of October 1845

Bill of sale from William Lomax
to Barbara Llyes of sundry parcels
of personal property dated the 14.th
day of August 1845
Know all men by these
presents that I William
Lomax of Anne Arundel
County and state of Maryland
for and in consideration
of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars current money due and owing
by me the said William Lomax to Barbara Lyles of the same County
and state and also in consideration of the sum of one dollar current
money in hand paid at and before the sealing of these presents the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained
and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the
said Barbara Lyles her executors administrators and assigns all my
share of the wheat and oats made this year on the farm where I live
also all my share of the crop of corn and tobacco now growing on the
said farm it being on the land of the late Henry Lyles deceased.  To Have
and to hold all and singular the said described wheat oats Corn and
tobacco above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the
