meant mentioned and intended hereby to be together with all the
right title and interest of the said Editha in and to the same and
every of them unto the said John W Williams his executors administrators
or assigns forever and the said Editha Williams for herself
her heirs executors and administrators all and singular the said
negroes slaves according to their respective terms unto the said
John W Williams his executors administrators or assigns against her
the said Editha her Executors and administrators and against all
and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant
forever defend by these presents of all and singular which negroes the
said Editha has put the said John W Williams in full possession.  In
Witness whereof I the said Editha Williams do hereby set my hand
and affix my seal this tenth day of October in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and forty five

    At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit

State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit

    On this tenth day of October in year eighteen hundred and forty
five before the Subscriber a justice of the peace in and for said County
personally appeared the above named Editha Williams party
grantor to the foregoing Instrument of writing and acknowledged
the same to be her act and deed
Recorded the 14.th day of October 1845         W.m Glover

Bill of sale from Benjamin Toogood
to Hester Ann Chase dated the sixteenth
day of October eighteen hundred and
forty five
Know all men by these
presents that I
Benjamin Toogood
of Anne Arundel County
                                        for and in consideration of the sum of
one dollar current money to me in hand paid by Hester Ann Chase of
said County at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the
receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge have granted bargained & sold
and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said
Hester Ann Chase her executors administrators and assigns three
Horses one Colt one yoke oxen and ox cart five head of cows five calves
one bull one three year heifer Hogs one batteaux Plows hoes Harrows
and all farming utensils crop of tobacco now in the House corn
fodder and all other crops now growing all which said personal property
is now on the farm occupied by me as tenant of the said Hester A Chase
To Have and To Hold the said personal property with the increase
unto and to the use of the said Hester A Chase her Executors administrators
