suit of George Baily, and an execution was issued thereon,
under which certain personal property of the said William
H. Dorsey has been taken by the Sheriff of Anne Arundel County,
to wit; three horses, a yoke of oxen, and a pleasure carriage,
and whereas the said Thomas Donaldson Trustee, has paid
the amount of said judgment to the said George Baily, together
with all the costs and charges thereon accrued, amounting
in the whole to the sum of two hundred and seventy
dollars ($270) under an agreement, that a bill of sale, by
way of mortgage of the personal property hereinafter mentioned,
should be given to the said Thomas Donaldson by the
said William H. Dorsey, in order to secure the payment
of the said amount, advanced as aforesaid.  Now this Indenture
witnesseth, that the said William H. Dorsey, for and
in consideration of the premises, and of the sum of one
dollar, current money to him in hand paid, by the
said Thomas Donaldson, at and before the sealing and delivery
of these presents, hath granted, bargained and sold,
and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell, unto
the said Thomas Donaldson, his executors, administrators,
and assigns, all and singular, the personal property, goods
and chattels, hereinafter particularly mentioned and expressed,
that is to say; one grey mare about four years old,
two sorel work horses; one brown work horse, one yoke of
oxen, and one spring market wagon, being the same, that
were taken in execution as aforesaid, except that, in stead of
the pleasure wagon, taken in execution are substituted the grey
mare and the market wagon.  To have and To Hold, all and
singular the said enumerated goods and chattels and
personal property, unto the said Thomas Donaldson his executors,
administrators and assigns.  Provided always, and it is declared
to be the true intent and meaning of these presents, that
if the said William H. Dorsey, do, and shall well and truly pay,
or cause to be paid, unto the said Thomas Donaldson, his executors,
administrators and assigns, the full sum of two hundred
and seventy dollars, current money, on or before the first day of
May, in the year, eighteen hundred and fifty two, then and
in that case, these presents, and every matter and thing
herein contained shall cease, and determine, and be utterly
void to all intents and purposes, anything herein contained to the contrary
notwithstanding.  In witness whereof the said William H. Dorsey
