381. house supposed to be about seven hogsheads also all my household & Kitchen furniture farming implements and property of every description now in my possession on the farm of the said William S. McPherson in Anne Arundel County. To Have and to Hold the aforesaid property above bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be to the said William S. McPherson his executors administrators and assigns forever. And I the said John G Nichols have put the said William S. McPherson in full possession by delivering to him the said William S. McPherson one bundle of Tobacco at the sealing and delivery of these presents in the name of the whole premises hereby bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be unto him the said William S. McPherson as aforesaid In Witness whereof the said John G Nichols hath hereto set his hand and seal this 17th day of November 1849 John G. Nichols (seal) Signed sealed & delivered in the presence of J W Hunter State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit On this 17th day of November 1849 personally appeared before John G. Nichols before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for Anne Arundel County and acknowledged the foregoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed. And at the same time personally appeared the said William S. McPherson and made oath that the consideration set forth in said Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth Acknowledged & sworn before J. W. Hunter State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit I certify that Wm S. McPherson has this day paid one dollar being the duty chargeable by law on this instrument of writing the receipt whereof is herein endorsed agreeably to the act of assembly of December session 1846 Chapter 61 Given under my hand this 17th day of November 1849 Jos H Nicholson Clk Recorded n the 17.th day of November 1849 Deld to grantee Feb 16th 1850 Cost 90cts
$450 to bear interest to be paid to her the said Eliza J. Shaw by the said James Kennard or those who may from time to time hire him in monthly sums of eight dollars on account of said balance principal & Interest until the same shall be paid off in full and that upon such payment in full the said Gill his executors administrators & assigns shall and will manumit & liberate the said Jas Kennard of & from all & all manner of service It being understood that said Gill is neither to be responsible for the sum of $450 nor for the escape or default of the said James Kennard in the premises and whereas it has been further agreed by & between the said E J Shaw & R W Gill that if the said James Kennard or those who may hire him make default in or omit the payment of the said monthly payment of eight dollars for above the space of four months the said E. J. Shaw after notices to said Gill may require him to sell the said James Kennard & out of the proceeds of |
