one hundred dollars current money for which he has passed to him his promissory note bearing even date with these presents payable with interest on the first day of August next and to secure the payment thereof is willing to execute these presents and whereas the said Richard W Gill in consideration of the said Cornelius McLean having paid the sum of one hundred dollars as a part payment of the sum of one hundred and thirty one dollars and twenty eight cents in which the said Wingate stood indebted to the said Gill is willing to execute these presents as a release to the extent of the said one hundred dollars paid by the said Cornelius McLean as aforesaid of the Mortgage which he holds upon the printing materials of the said Wingate and as a postponement of his mortgage upon the residue with interest to these presents in favor of the said Cornelius McLean as is evidenced by his signing and sealing these presents And whereas the said James Wingate is to give his promissory note for the payment of the residue with interest to the said Gill bearing even date with these presents and payable on the first of August next Now therefore this Indenture witnesseth that the said James Wingate and Richard W. Gill for and in consideration of the premises and of the sum of five dollars current money to them in hand paid by the said Cornelius McLean at or before the execution of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Cornelius McLean his executors administrators and assigns all and singular the goods and chattels household stuff and printing materials hereinafter particularly mentioned and expressed that is to say twenty seven cases five marble imhosing stones three stands sixty metallic cuts one mahogany desk one large table and stand four comparing sticks one font non pariel type one one font of brevior do brass rules seven iron chases four newspaper boards one glazed press board one standing press and screw three hundred pounds of long primer type ten fonts of small fancy letter type a lot of job type (large and small) one long galley three brass galleys twenty pounds of lead roller frame and stock three sets of ornamental borders one imperial columbian iron press four hundred and fifty pounds of long primer type nineteen pounds of minior do two ling primer three double stands one rack one standing galley two stands fourteen pounds of newspaper leads two boards two composing sticks fourteen and a half pair cases one p.r imperial chases one set of column rules one brass rule together with a ramage press and its fixtures rollers cylinders and inking apparatus also the large coal stove one eight day brass clock one settee and mattrass one large writing desk and chair one office sign one copy Websters Dictionary (large edition) |
