373 years on the first day of April last past to serve until the said Mareen M. Duvall his executors administrators and assigns from the day of the date of these presents until he attains the age of thirty years which will be on the first day of April eighteen hundred and sixty four To Have and to Hold the said negro boy Isaiah Dorsey unto the said Mareen M. Duvall his executors administrators and assigns to the proper use and behoof of the said Mareen M. Duvall his executors administrators and assigns from the day of the date of these presents until he the said Isaiah Dorsey arrives at the age of thirty years which will be on the first day of April 1864 as aforesaid and no longer. And I the said Letitia Pearce for myself my heirs executors and administrators the said negro boy Isaiah Dorsey unto the said Mareen M Duvall his executors administrators and assigns for and during the period aforesaid shall and will warrant and defend against the claims of all persons whomsoever claiming by from or under me. And I the said Letitia Pearce for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free from and after he attains the age of thirty years which will be on the first day of April eighteen hundred and sixty four as aforesaid the said negro boy named Isaiah Dorsey or by whatsoever name or names he may be known or called. And the said negro boy named Isaiah Dorsey I do by these presents declare to be thenceforth that is to say from and after the first day of April 1864 as aforesaid free manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me my executors or administrators and from all manner of claim or right of service or servitude by me my executors or administrators forever In Witness whereof we the said Letitia Pearce and Mareen M Duvall have hereunto subscribed our named and affixed our seals on this nineteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine Signed sealed and delivered in the Letitia Pierce (seal) presence of Ja.s Buchanan Hugh Ely Mareen M. Duvall (seal) Received on the day of the date of the foregoing Bill of Sale or instrument of writing from the therein named Mareen M. Duvall the grantee the sum of two hundred and twenty five dollars lawful money in full for the consideration within expressed to be paid by him to me Letitia Peirce Witness Ja.s Buchanan State of Maryland City of Baltimore sct. Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this nineteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland in and for the parties to the foregoing Bill of Sale or instrument of writing and do severally acknowledge the same to be their respective act and deed and the said Letitia Peirce doth also acknowledge the foregoing Deed of Manumission to b her act and deed And the said Mareen M. Duvall doth also make oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty that the consideration stated and set forth in said Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein stated. In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year aforesaid Ja.s Buchanan Recorded on the 3.d day of November 1849 Examnd and delivered 4.th March 1851 to Mareen M.
