372 hand paid by Richard Sellman of the County and state aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof i the said Joseph W. Lee do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Richard Sellman his executors administrators and assigns three Geldings one cow all my crop of Tobacco now hanging in the house the growth of the present year and all my crop of corn now in the field also the growth of the present year all which property is now in my possession To Have and to Hold the said described property vizt the three geldings one cow crop of Tobacco and crop of corn to the said Richard Sellman his executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said Joseph W. Lee for myself my heirs executors and administrators the aforesaid three geldings one cow crop of Tobacco and crop of corn to the said Richard Sellman his executors administrators and assigns against me the said Joseph W. Lee my Executors and administrators and against all and every person and persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents Provided nevertheless that in case I the said Joseph W. Lee shall pay and satisfy to the said Richard Sellman or to his Executors administrators or assigns the sum of seventy six dollars and sixty six cents current money with interest for the same on or before the first day of August next ensuing then this Bill of Sale and every matter and thing therein expressed shall be void and of none effect it being the true intent and meaning thereof that the said three geldings one cow crop of tobacco and crop of corn are mortgaged by me the said Joseph W. Lee to secure to the said Richard Sellman the payment of the money aforesaid In Witness whereof I the said Joseph W. Lee have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the second day of November 1849 his Signed sealed and delivered in Joseph x W. Lee (seal) presence of J W. Hunter mark Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit On this second day of November 1849 before me one of the justices of the peace in and for said county appears Joseph W Lee and acknowledges the foregoing writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided J W Hunter Recorded on the 2.d day of November 1849 Cost 75cts paid
Anne Arundel County and state of Maryland aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Mareen M. Duvall his executors administrators and assigns my negro boy named Isaiah Dorsey aged fifteen |
