289 paid to Joshua T. Clarke of Prince George County and state afforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby grant bargain and sell unto the said Joshua T. Clarke his executors administrators and assigns all my crop of corn and tobacco now growing on the farm on which I reside and also a lot of ury in the straw and I also agree and bind myself to assist in securing the said crop of corn and Tobacco all of which crop are now in my possession. To Have and to Hold the same described crops above bargained and sold to the said Joshua T. Clarke his executors administrators and assigns forever; to his and their only proper use and benefit; and I the said Thomas Gallyhan for myself my executors and administrator shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents to the said Joshua T. Clarke his executors administrators and assigns the said described crops against me my executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the 19.th day of August 1848 his Thomas x Gallyhan (seal) mark Witness Jos. Nicholson Maryland Anna rundel County to wit On this the 19 day of August eighteen hundred and forty eight personally appears Joshua T. Clarke the grantee in the afforegoing Bill of sale or instrument of writing before me the subscriber be a Justice of the peace of the State & for County afforesaid and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration mentioned in this instrument of writing is true just and bona fide according to the meaning of the act of assembly prescribing this oth Sworn before Jos Nicholson J.
