Phelps administrator of James Phelps and acknowledges the above Instrument of writing to be his act and deed, according to the true intent and meaning thereof and at the same time appears Charles Smith the donee named in the foregoing bill of sale and made oath in due form of law that the consideration set forth said bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth Sworn before William Hawkins J. P. Recorded the 13.th day of June 1848 Examd & d.d Cost $0.50cts paid 5 sides
sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt wereof I the said William Drury of Hy do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do hereby grant bargain, and sell unto the said John H. Drury of Hy his executors, administrators, and assigns one bay Horse called Harriet on or about seven years old To Have and to hold the same forever Provided that I the said William Drury of H do not within six Months from this date hereof refund back to the said John H. Drury of Hy the above named sum of Eleven dollars and fifty cents In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this seventh day of June in the year of Our Lord Eighteen Hundred and forty Eight Signed Sealed and delivered William Drury of H (Seal) In the presence of Joseph Chaney J. P. And at the same time and place appeared before me the subscriber a justice of the peace John H.
