181 At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit Be it remembered that on this first day of February in the year eighteen hundred and forty seven before the Subscriber a justice of the peace in and for the County of Anne Arundel personally appears John W Williams the party grantor in the aforegoing instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed Recorded the first day of February 1845 W.m Glover costs 75 cts
in hand paid by William Anderson of Prince Georges County in the said State at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Richard Phelps do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said William Anderson his Executors administrators and assigns all the goods household stuff & property hereinafter particularly mentioned that is to say one sorrel horse one sorrel mare five head of cattle seven sheep ten hogs and crop of tobacco supposed to be two thousand pounds one horse cart one eight inch plough one lot of corn and three feather beds all and singular which said goods and chattels are now in the possession and occupation of the said Richard Phelps. To Have and To Hold all and singular the said goods and chattels above described and other the premises above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the said William Anderson his Executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said Richard Phelps for myself my heirs executors and administrators all and singular the said goods household stuff and property and other the premises unto the said William Anderson his Executors administrators and assigns against me said Richard Phelps my executors and administrators and and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents of all and singular which said goods and property and other the premises & the said Richard Phelps have put the said William Anderson in full possession by delivering to him the said William Anderson one sorrel horse at the sealing and delivering of these presents in the name of the whole premises hereby bargained and sold or mentioned and intended to be so unto him the said William as aforesaid. In Witness whereof the said Richard Phelps has hereunto set his hand and seal on the 8.th day of March eighteen hundred and forty |
