                                                                               This Indenture made
this 17.th day June in the year eighteen hundred and forty six between
Caroline Nichols of Anne Arundel County Maryland of the one part and
Henry Maynadier of the same County and State of the other part Witnesseth
that whereas the said party of the first part owes and stands
justly indebted to the party of the second part in the following sums
of money vizt in the sum of one hundred and sixty three dollars and cents
on note bearing date the 24.th day of July 1844 with legal interest and in
the further sum of one hundred and fifty dollars for one years rent of
the farm now occupied by her due on the first day of January 1846
with legal interest on the same and in the further sum of twenty dollars
and forty cents for twenty four bushels of wheat sold her by the party
of the second part and to secure the payment of the said several sums
of money the said party of the second part is willing to execute these
presents.  Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said party of the
first part for and in consideration of the premises and for and in
consideration of the sum of one dollar current money to her in hand
paid by the said party of the second part at or before the sealing and
delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant
bargain and sell to the said party of the second part his heirs Executors
Administrators and assigns all and singular the property hereinafter
mentioned that is to say one negro man called and known by
the name of Bill Sanders supposed to be about thirty eight years
of age four horses four cows one yoke of work oxen one ox cart and the crop
of wheat now growing on the farm now occupied by the party of the
first part.  To have and To Hold all nd singular the said property
herein before granted bargained and sold or mentioned or intended
so to be unto the said party of the second part his Executors administrators
and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said party
of the first ^second^ part his Executors or administrators ^assigns forever Provided always and these presents are upon the condition that if the said party of the first part her executors or administrators^ shall and do well
and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said party of the second
party his Executors administrators or assigns the said several sums
