Consideration of the sum of Five dollars Current money to me in hand paid by the said
John Tydings at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof
is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents
do grant bargain and sell unto the said John Tydings his Executors administrators
and assigns the following personal property now in my possession to with negro
woman named Rachel aged about forty five years and her son negro boy named
William aged about three years two horses one Cow three hundred bushels of
oats the Crop of Corn now growing on the Land whereon I reside one half of the
schooner Harvester one batteau two ploughs and gear nine Hogs and all my
household and kitchen furniture  To have and To hold the aforesaid described
personal property unto the said John Tydings his executors administrators and
assigns and to his and their use provided nevertheless that if I the said
Thomas W Stinchicomb my Executors or administrators shall on or before the
fifteenth day of September in the year Eighteen hundred and forty six pay unto
the said John Tydings his Executors administrators or assigns the aforesaid
sum of Five hundred and fifty dollars with Interest thereon from the fifteenth
day of September in the present year Eighteen hundred and forty then these presents
and every thing herein Contained shall be utterly null and void otherwise to be and
remain in full force and vertue  And it is hereby to be understood that until
default shall be made in payment of said sum of money and interest or some part
thereof it shall and may be lawful for me the said Thomas W Stinchicomb my
Executors administrators and assigns to retain possession of the aforesaid personal
property hereby bargained and sold (other than the oats and Corn) and
the same to use occupy and enjoy without the molestation or hindrance of the
said John Tydings his Executors administrators or assigns in like manner and
to every intent as if these presents had not been executed  In Witness whereof
I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of September in the
year Eighteen hundred and forty

of the words "my Executors administrators           Thomas W Stinchcomb   (seal)
and assigns being above interlined

                      On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

Anne Arundel County to wit  On this twenty first day of September in the year
Eighteen hundred and forty before me a Justice of the peace in and for Anne Arundel County
personally appeared the within named Thomas W Stinchicomb and acknowledged the
foregoing Instrument of writing to be his act and deed
