                At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

State of Maryland Baltimore City Ss.  Be it remembered That on this Seventh
day of November in the year Eighteen hundred and thirty Eight before the subscriber
a Justice of the Peace of the state and City aforesaid personally appeared George
Weems and John H Iglehart and acknowledged the above Instrument of writing
as their act and deed            Acknowledged before me

Know all Men by these presents That I William Keilholts of Baltimore City
County and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred
twenty five dollars lawful money of the united states in hand paid by John H
Iglehart of Ann Arundel County in the state of maryland at or before the
Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain
and sell unto the said John H Iglehart his Executors administrators and
assigns one negro womas named Maria a slave untill the first day of
November Eighteen hundred and forty one at which time she is to be free
also her infant Child named Ellen about two years old a slave for life
the above Maria not to be taken Sent or removed out of the state of maryland
To have and To hold the said described Maria and Ellen above
described to the said John H Iglehart his Executors administrators and
assigns and he the said William Kielholts for himself his heirs Executors and
administrators the said negro Maria and Ellen unto the said John H
Iglehart his Executors administrators and assigns against him the said William
Kielholts his Executors and administrators and against all and every
other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and for ever
defend by these presents  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and seal this ninth day of November Eighteen hundred and thirty Eight

       James Blair                               Jn.o H Iglehart    (seal)
