          On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

       State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit  On this sixteenth
day of November Eighteen hundred and thirty Eight before the subscriber
a Justice of the peace in and for the County and State aforesaid personally
appeared Dennis Boyd and acknowledged the aforegoing Instrument
of writing to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned
and I Certify that I am satisfied of my own knowledge that the said
Dennis Boyd who executed and acknowledged the said Instrument
of writing before me is the Identical person named thereon and professing
to Execute the Same      Acknowledged before and Certified by

Know all Men by these presents That I George Weems of the City of
Baltimore and state of maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of
Two hundred and fifty dollars Current money to me in hand paid by
John H Iglehart of Anne Arundel County State of aforesaid at and
before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold  And by these presents
do grant bargain and sell unto the said John H Iglehart his Executors
administrators and assigns a negro man named Nicholas Knight who was
Seventeen years old or thereabouts on the Twenty fourth day of may
in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty three to serve the
Said John H Iglehart his Executors administrators or assigns until he
shall arrive at the age of forty four years when he is to be free according to a
the title from Robert Knight to Pricilla Lynch and from the administrator
of said Pricilla Lynch to the said George Weems  To have and To hold
the said negro man named Nicholas Knight for the term aforesaid
above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be
to the said John H Iglehart his Executors administrators and
assigns and I the said George Weems for myself Executors and
administrators and assigns all and singular the said negro man
for the term aforesaid unto the said John H Iglehart his Executors
administrators and assigns against me the said George Weems
my Executors administrators and assigns and against all and every other
person or persons shall and will warrant and forever defend by these
presents  In Witness whereof the said George Weems and John H Iglehart
have hereto subscribed their names and affixed their seals the seventh
