358 sum of money and interest thereon from this day on or before the first day of May next then and in that case these presents to be void And the said Tuck for himself his heirs Executors and administrators doth hereby Covenant promise and agree to and with the said Tydings that he the said Tuck his Executors ^heirs^ or administrators do and shall well and truly pay to the said Tydings his Executors administrators or assigns the aforesaid sum of money and interest at the term herein before specified In Testimony whereof the said Tuck hath hereto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first herein specified Signed Sealed and delivered in presence Washn G Tuck (seal) of J W Hunter At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne Arundel County Be it remembered That on this fifth day of October in the year Eighteen hundred and forty four before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the said State in and for Anne Arundel County aforesaid personally appears Washington G Tuck of the said County the grantor aforesaid and acknowledges he above instrument to be his act and deed Ex d d J W Hunter 4¾ 65 Recorded the 12 day of October 1844 Know all men by these presents that I John Rice of Anne Arundel County and State of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars current money to me in hand paid by Rignal D Woodward and William H Baldwin of the County and State aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the said John Rice do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Rignal D Woodward and William Baldwin their Executors administrators and assigns one negro boy named Sam and one Negro Girl named Nan To have and To hold the said described property to the said Rignal D Woodward and William H Baldwin their Executors administrators and assigns for ever and I the said John Rice for myself my heirs Executors and administrators the foresaid property to the said Rignal D Woodward and William H Baldwin their Executors administrators and assigns against me the said John Rice my Executors administrators and against all and every person or persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents Provided Nevertheless that in case I the said John Rice shall pay and satisfy to the said Rignal D Woodward and William H Baldwin or to their Executors administrators or assigns the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars current money with interest for the same on or before the 11th October 1845 then this bill of sale and every matter and thing therein expressed shall be void and of none effect it (being) |
