323 in such cases made and provided Exd d d Acknowledged before James Higgins J P paid Recorded the 15th day of April 1844 Know all men by these presents that I Isaac Owens of Ben of Anne Arundel County Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars Current money of the United States for which I am justly indebted to my daughter Mary Elizabeth Owens of the same County for certain property conveyed to her by her Grand father Benjamin Owens of Anne Arundel County by bill of sale dated 13th October in the year Eighteen hundred and twenty seven and recorded in Liber W S G N.o 13 folio 19 one of the land record books of Anne Arundel County and of which property I have Since had the use with their increase without paying my consideration therefore: And also for the further sum of one dollar Current money to me in hand paid before the sealing and delivery of these presents by the said Mary E Owens the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do hereby grant bargain and sell to the said Mary Elizabeth Owens her Executors administrators and assigns Twenty head of horned Cattle Nineteen hogs Twenty one sheep and Eight horses including two colts now in my possession on the farm on which I reside To have and To hold all and singular the property above bargained and sold or meant mentioned or intended so to be to the said Mary Elizabeth Owens her Executors administrators and assigns for ever to her or their only proper use and behoof and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this 13th day of April in the year Eighteen hundred and forty four Isaac Owens of Ben (seal) Test J W Hunter On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne Arundel County to wit: Be it remembered that on on this thirteenth day of April in the year one thousand Eight hundred and forty four personally appeared Isaac Owens of Ben before us the subscribers Justices of the peace of the State of maryland for Anne Arundel County and acknowledged the foregoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed and property therein mentioned and thereby bargained and sold to be the right and estate of Mary Elizabeth Owens also therein named as party grantee her heirs Executors administrators and assigns according to the purport true intent and meaning thereof and the Acts of Assembly in such case made and provided And now Certify that the said Isaac Owens of Ben is personally known to us and is the Identical person named in the foregoing instrument of writing as party (grantee) |
