322 Signed Sealed & delivered in presence Washn G Tuck (seal) of Wm Glover At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County to wit On this third day of April in the year Eighteen hundred and forty four before me a Justice of the peace in and for said County personally appears the above named Washington G Tuck and acknowledged the foregoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed chd Wm Glover 73 5½ Recorded the 3d day of April 1844 Know all men by these presents that I Edward Jacob of Anne Arundel County in the State of maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars current money to me in hand paid by William I Hodges of the State and County aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Edward Jacob doth hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Wm O Hodges his Executors administrators and assigns One negro woman named Rebecca aged about twenty years To have and To hold the said negro woman Rebecca in the premises above bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be to the said Wm O Hodges his Executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said Edward Jacob for myself my heirs Executors and administrators all and singular the said negro woman named Rebecca aged about twenty years unto the said Wm O Hodges his Executors and administrators and against all other persons and every person whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents of all and singular which said negro woman named Rebecca aged about seventy years I the said Edward Jacob have put the said Wm O Hodges in possession by delivering the said negro woman named Rebecca aged about twenty years at the sealing and delivery of these presents In Witness whereof I the said Edward Jacob have hereunto set my hand and affixed against this fifteenth day of April Eighteen hundred and forty four Test James Higgins Edw Jacobs (seal) On the back of the foregoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne Arundel County to wit Be it remembered That on this fifteenth day of April 1844 before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the State aforesaid in and for the County aforesaid personally appears Edward Jacob and acknowledges the foregoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the Act of Assembly (in) |
