Nicholas Woodward  To Have and To Hold all and singular the above mentioned personal
property hereby bargained and sold unto the said Nicholas Woodward his Executors administrators
and assigns for ever  In witness whereof I the said Benjamin Mulliken hath hereunto set my
hand and affixed my seal this thirty first day of may in the year of our Lord one thousand
Eight hundred and forty two

                   At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

On the day of the date of the above Instrument of writing the consideration money
therein mentioned was received by me                     Benjamin Mullikin
Witness Caleb White

       Anne Arundel County to wit   On this 31.st day of may Eighteen hundred and forty two
personally appeared Benjamin Mulliken the party to the above bill of sale or Instrument
of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the County aforesaid and
acknowledged the same to be his act and deed

       Whereas Charles Clagett has become security for Thomas H Knighton for the sum of
three thousand six hundred twenty nine dollars & fifty cents on his bond to the state of
Maryland conditioned for the payment to the representatives of John Knighton deceased of
their proportion of the valuation of Lot Number two of the real Estate of said deceased
as will appear by reference to the case in Chancery of Allen Marriott &c others against
Caroline J Knighton & others and to indemnify and save harmless the said Charles
Clagett against loss by said securityship the said Knighton is willing to execute these
presents  Now Know all men by these presents that I Thomas H Knighton for and in
Consideration of the premises and of one dollar to me in hand paid by the said Charles
Clagett have assigned therefore set our conveyed and do hereby assign transfer set over
and convey to the said Charles Clagett his executors administrators and assigns all my
interest in the proceeds of sale of the real Estate of the said John Knighton deceased
as reported to the Chancery Court by the trustee in said cause and I am willing that the
same may be audited for his use Provided however that if I shall pay or cause to be paid
the said valuation of Lot number his as my be directed by the chancellor and according
to the terms of my bond for that purpose then these presents shall be void the same being
designed as a security to the said Clagett against injury or loss by the said securityship
In witness whereof I hereto set my hand and seal this eighteenth day of June Eighteen
hundred and forty two
