182 and every other person or persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents provided Nevertheless that in case I the said Joseph Tydings shall pay and satisfy to the said George W Rawlings or to his executors administrators or assigns the sum of two hundred dollars Current money with Int for the same from the date of these presents until paid then this Bill of Sale and every matter and thing therein shall be void and of none effect it being the true intent and meaning thereof that the aforesaid property is mortgaged by me the said Joseph Tydings to secure to the said George W Rawlings the payment of the money aforesaid In Witness whereof I the said Joseph Tydings have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the twenty fifth day of may in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty two his Witness Jos Nicholson Joseph x Tydings mark At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit On this 25 day of may 1842 before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County appears Joseph Tydings and acknowledges the foregoing ^writing^ to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such Case made and provided Witness My hand Jo.s Nicholson paid 3¾ Recorded the 6th day of June 1842 Know all men by these presents that I Benjamin Mulliken of Anne Arundel County and state of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen hundred dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Nicholas Woodward of the County and state aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Nicholas Woodward his Executors administrators or assigns all the personal property herein after particularly mentioned that is to say one negro man named Jerry one negro man named Will one negro man named Rezin one negro boy named Frank one negro boy named Sam ^Sam^ one negro boy named Harry a negro woman named Charlotte and her two Children Lemuel and Emeline one negro Girl named Nancy and one negro Girl named Sall also one bay horse one brown horse one Grey Horse one Grey mare one rone horse one pair oxen four cows four yearlings twenty head of Sheep one Waggon and Gear for seed ploughs one harrow one carryall four beds and furniture thirty five head of hogs also all the Household and Kitchen furniture now in the House occupied by the said Nicholas Woodward all of which said personal property goods and chattels hereby bargained and sold or meant mentioned or intended so to be are now in the possession of the said (Nicholas) |
