170 Know all men by these presents that I Henry C Dunbar of Anne Arundel County and state of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Amelia Towell of the County and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Amelia Towell her Executors administrators and assigns one negro boy Phil aged about eleven years a slave for life To have and To hold the same described property above bargained and sold to the said Amelia Towell her executors administrators and assigns for ever to her and their only proper use and benefit And I the said Henry C Dunbar for myself my Executors and administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents to the said Amelia Towell her Executors administrators and assigns the said described property against me my Executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons I whomsoever Claiming the same or any part thereof In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the 30 day of 1842 Signed Sealed and delivered Henry C Dunbar in the presence of William H Cooke Exd d d chd $.37cts 2 Recorded the 12th day of April 1842 Know all men by these presents that I William S Adams of Anne Arundel County in the state of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Eighty five dollars Current money to me in hand paid by George Hamilton of Howard District of Anne Arundel County in the said state at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Wm S Adams do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said George Hamilton his Executors administrators and assigns all the goods household Stuff Implements and furniture herein after particularly mentioned that is to say one gray mare one sorrel horse two red and white Cows one black and white heifer one waggon and harness seven hoggs one wooden Clock one mahogany bureau all and singular which said goods and Chattels are now remaining standing and being in a certain messuage or tenement situate in Anne Arundel County and now in the occupation of the said Wm S Adams as the Case may be To have and To hold all and singular the said Goods household Stuff and furniture and other the premises above Bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the said George Hamilton his Executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said Wm S Adams for myself my heirs Executors and administrators all and Singular the said Goods household Stuff and furniture and other the premises unto the said George Hammilton his Executors administrators and (assigns) |
