169 and for the hire of two negroes the sum of seventy three dollars and in order to indemnify and save harmless the said Margaret Hall on account of the said note and the said last mentioned Sums of money so due and owing as aforesaid has agreed to execute these presents Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said Ephraim W Hall for and in consideration of the premises and for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars Current money to him in hand paid by the said Margaret Hall at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Ephraim W Hall doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and therefrom doth acquit release exonerate and forever discharge the said Margaret Hall her heirs Executors and administrators and every of them by these presents hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Margaret Hall her Executors administrators and assigns all and singular the goods furniture and other personal property herein after mentioned and expressed that is to say four horses two ploughs four cultivators one Buggy and Harness four hundred pounds of meal one barrel of whiskey one barrell of molasses one barrel of sugar two plough shares one Corn Sheller one wheel Barrow one dozen hoes and one Harrow To have and To hold all and singular the said goods and personal property herein before granted bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be unto the said Margaret Hall her Executors administrators and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said Margaret Hall her Executors administrators and assigns forever provided always and these presents are upon the Condition that if the said Ephraim W Hall his Executors or administrators shall do and well truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Margaret Hall her Executors administrators or assigns the said sums so mentioned as aforesaid with Interest for the same on or before the first day of April in the year Eighteen hundred and forty three then and in such case these presents and every matter and thing herein Contained shall cease determine and be utterly void to all intents or purposes anything herein Contained to the Contrary thereof in any wise notwithstanding In Witness whereof the said Ephraim W Hall has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of the word three being first inserted above the fifty sixth line thereof E W Hall (seal) Wm Glover On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne Arundel County Sct Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that on this eleventh day of april Eighteen hundred and forty two personally appears Ephraim W Hall party grantor in the foregoing Instrument of writing he being known to us to be the person who is named and described as the party grantor mentioned in the foregoing deed and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned Exd d d Wm Glover chd 73.cts 6 Recorded the 11 day of April 1842 |
