136 hundred and forty one between John Nicholas Watkins of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland of the one part and Rachel H Watkins of the Same County and State aforesaid of the other part Whereas the said John Nicholas Watkins is indebted to the said Rachel H Watkins in the sum of fifteen hundred dollars with Interest thereon from the eleventh day of may in the year Eighteen hundred and thirty seven which said debt has been secured partly by a Mortgage from the said John Nicholas Watkins to the said Rachel H Watkins of a House and Lot in the City of Annapolis executed the twenty third day of March in the year Eighteen hundred and thirty Eight and recorded in Liber W L G No 22 folio 473 one of land record Books of Anne Arundel County as by reference thereto will more fully appear and whereas the said John Nicholas Watkins is anxious better to secure the said Sum of money and the interest thereon accrued and accruing and also to secure the Sum of one hundred dollars Current Money lent to the said John Nicholas Watkins by the said Rachel H Watkins at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents with the legal interest thereon hath agreed and is willing to execute these presents Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said John Nicholas Watkins for and in consideration of the above recited premises and of one dollar lawful Money to him in hand paid by the said Rachel H Watkins the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Rachel H Watkins her Executors or administrators and assigns all the Household and kitchen furniture of him the said John Nicholas Watkins of every kind whatsoever To have & To hold the same unto the said Rachel H Watkins her Executors or administrators and assigns forever provided always and these presents are upon this Condition that if the said John Nicholas Watkins shall well and truly pay to the Said Rachel H Watkins her Executors or administrators and assigns the Sum of money with the interest thereon above secured or intended to be secured then this Indenture to be void In Witness whereof the said John Nicholas Watkins hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first herein written Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of John Nick Watkins (seal) J W Hunter At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit Be it remembered that on this fifteenth day of September in the year Eighteen hundred and forty one before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the said state in and for said County personally appears John Nicholas Watkins known to me as the identical person named (and) |
