123 whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day of April Eighteen hundred and forty one Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of John T Watkins (seal) J W Hunter At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne Arundel County to wit On this tenth day of april Eighteen hundred and forty one before me one of the Justice of the peace in and for the said County appeared John T Watkins and acknowledged the above writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such Cases made and provided also certify that the person making this acknowledgment is the same whose name is thereto Signed J W Hunter chd 46 3¼ Recorded the 10th day of April 1841 This Indenture made this thirteenth day of april in the year one thousand Eight hundred and forty ^one^ between Jacob Basford of the one part and Basil Shephard and Richard Swann of the other part whereas the said Jacob Basford owes and stands justly indebted to George G Brewer in the sum of three thousand and three hundred dollars Current money for the full and just payment of which said sum of money the said Jacob Basford has given to the said George G Brewer a joint bond dated the first of January Eighteen hundred and thirty nine with Basil Shephard and Richard Swann as securities for the payment of the aforesaid sum of money ten years after date of said bond with legal interest therein to be paid annually Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Jacob Basford for and in consideration of the premises and for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars Current Money to him in hand paid by the said Basel Shephard and Richard Swann at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Jacob Basford doth hereby acknowledge by these presents hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Basil Shephard and Richard Swann their Executors administrators and assigns all and singular the property goods furniture and household Stuff hereinafter particularly mentioned and expressed that is to say one negro girl named Monakey aged about sixteen years and her increase if she shall hereafter have any one dozen large silver spoons one half dozen small silver spoons one silver ladle and pair of silver sugar tongs one set of tea china four cut glass decanters four glass dishes twelve cut glass tumblers twelve wine glasses cut glass twelve cut glass mugs one dozen large knives and forks and one dozen small two Britania Coffe pots two dozen Cain seat ^chairs^ one sideboard chairs one dozen slat back chairs (five) |
