67 Joel Cornwell Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill √ from xd of Sale was received and recorded on the 26.th day of september 1853 to wit Washington Rumbly Know all men by these presents that Washington Rumbly of Dorchester County and State of Maryland, for and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred twenty seven dollars and nine cents lawful money of the United States in hand paid by Joel Cornwell at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged: Have granted bargained and sold, and by these presents Do grant, bargain and sell, unto the said Joel Cornwell his Executors, Administrators and Assigns, one brown mare named Dove one yoke oxen 1 ox Cart seventy five Barrels Corn more or less twenty Bushels wheat 1 Cow and Calf 1 lott top Blade fodder 1 Bed, bedstead & Covering & two shoats all of which property I have this Bill of saled to the said Joel Cornwell to secure him against loss of the above named sum or any part thereof and it is further understood and agreed that when said Rumbly shall well and truly pay to the aforesaid Cornwell the amount above specified ($127:09) the aforesaid Cornwell shall deliver up to said Rumbly the property above mentioned provided the amount above mentioned shall be paid on or before the 1st day of January next otherwise a public sale shall be held to satisfy the same for Cash To Have and To Hold the said described Brown mare, yoke oxen, Cart, Corn, wheat, Cow & calf top & Blade fodder Bed, Bedstead & Covering & shoats to the said Joel Cornwell his Executors administrators and Assigns forever; and he the said Washington Rumbly for himself Heirs, Executors and administrators the said property unto the said Joel Cornwell his executors administrators and assigns against him the said Washington Rumbly whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this 20.th day of september Eighteen hundred and fifty two his signed sealed and delivered Washington x Rumbly (seal) in the presence of mark Nicholas Langfit SS, State of Maryland Dorchester County Be it remembered that on this twentieth day of september 1852 before the subscriber, a Justice of the peace for said County appears Washington Rumbly and acknowledges the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed, according to the true intent and meaning thereof. Acknowledged before Nicholas Langfit J. P. State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit: Be it remembered that on the 20th day of september 1852 personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for said County) Joel Cornwell and made oath on the Holy Evangely of almighty God that the within Bill of sale was given for a bona fide Consideration and that there is neither fraud or deposition in the same sworn and Certified By Nic^h^olas Langfit J. P. Received the 22d day of september 1852 of Joel Cornwell the sum of the Cents in lieu of a stamp on this Mortgage Bill of sale Francis J. Henry Clerk 1853 september 26th Received of Washington Rumbly the sum of one Hundred and twenty seven dollars and nine cents and the interest on same up to this date being in full for the amount Claimed on the within Mortgage and I hereby release the property mentioned in said mortgage and have no Claim on same, and do this day delivery the |
