Eliza A. Barnett      Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following
    √   from   xd       Bill of sale was received and recorded on the 10.th day of October 1853 to wit:
James A. Stewart                  Know all men by these presents, that I, James A Stewart
                               of Dorchester County for and in Consideration of the sum of
Five Hundred Dollars to me in hand paid by Eliza A. Barnett wife of Peter Barnett
have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain, and sell, unto the
said Eliza A. Barnett wife of Peter Barnett my negro girl named "Ann" daughter of my
servant woman Eliza aged about Twelve years and now in the possession of Peter Barnett
& the said Eliza his wife slave for life, to have and to hold the said negro girl "Ann" as above
bargained and sold unto the said Eliza A Barnett and her heirs, executors, administrators, and
assigns, against me, the said James A. Stewart my heirs, executors, and administrators, and
against all and every other person or persons, shall and will warrant and defend
             In Testimony whereof, I have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal, this tenth day
of October 1853

                                  State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit:      On this tenth day
of October 1853 before me the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace in and for the said County and state,
personally appeared James A. Stewart, a Justice of the Peace in and for the said County and state,
personally appeared James A. Stewart and acknowledged the above bill of sale or instrument
of writing, to be his act and deed, according to the true intent and meaning thereof, and at the same
time personally appears before me Mrs. Eliza A. Barnett and made oath that the Consideration
mentioned in the aforegoing Bill of sale is bona fide just & true, to the best of her knowledge
and belief                                                                                             Charles Corkran

Dr Alexander H. Bayly      was received and recorded on the 17.th day of October 1853 to wit:
    √      from  xd                      Know all men by these presents, that I Richard mitchell of Dorchester
Richard Mitchell               County in the state of Maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of
110 Dollars      Current money, to me in hand paid by Francis J. Henry and Alexander H. Bayly
of the same County and state aforesaid, at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt
whereof, I the said Richard Mitchell do hereby acknowledge, have granted bargained and sold, and by these
presents do grant, bargain and sell, unto the said Francis J. Henry and Alexander H. Bayly their Executors
administrators and assigns, all the goods, household stuff, implements & furniture hereinafter
particularly mentioned; that is to say; three small stacks of fodder, one ox Cart one Cow, four
hogs, one grindstone, five hundred feet of white pine boards, three plows, two harrows, two Beds bedsteads
& furniture, two mahogany tables, one Dozen Chairs, one Cause, and all the rest and residue of
my household & kitchen furniture stock and farming implements of every kind whatsoever.  To
Have and To Hold the said goods, household stuff & furniture, and other the premises above
bargained and sold, or mentioned, or intended so to be, to the said Francis J. Henry and Alexander H.
Bayly their Executors, administrators and assigns, forever, and I the said Richard Mitchell for myself,
