165 Albert Acworth Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following √ from mortgage Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 21st day of July W.m H. Acworth in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Fifty Five To wit: This Indenture made this nineteenth day of July Anno Domini eighteen hundred and fifty five by and between William H. Acworth of Dorchester County and State of Maryland of the first part and Albert Acworth of Somerset County and state aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth that the Said party of the first part in consideration of a loan of Six hundred & Sixty nine dollars current money of the united States made to him the said party of the first part by him the aforesaid party of the Second part and for the further consideration of five dollars current money as aforesaid paid by the party of the second party to him the party of the first part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by him the said party of the first part; and for the especial purpose of securing to the party of the second part a reimbursement or return of the amount of money loaned as aforesaid with the interest thereon which may accrue and all costs and damages which may arise therefrom to the party of the Second part; which said amount of money is mentioned named and expressed in a note of hand or bill obligatory bearing the Same date of this instrument of writing and executed and passed by the party of the first part for the true intent and purpose of securing to the party of the second part the repayment of the aforesaid Sum of six hundred and Sixty nine dollars and interest thereon &c hath granted bargained and Sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and Sell unto the aforesaid Albert Acworth his heirs and assigns all and each of the goods chattels and personal property herein mentioned viz a crop of corn and oats now growing on the farm whereof the party of the first part ^now^ resides the crop of wheat saved and now in the house; on bay Mare (Fanny) one black Horse (Charley) one yoke of oxen; two cows and calves one heifer twenty head of hogs one ox cart one horse cart & harness four single plows Two double plows five harrows three sets plow gear one wheat fan Two Scythes & cradles Two Beds Bedsteads & furniture; two Bureaus three carpets nine chairs one Candle Stand two wash stands one clock two dining tables nine bed quilts six table clothes four counterpanes six pair of sheets queens ware Dinner & tea Sets Table and tea spoons three chests five blankets two grubbing hoes four weeding hoes two spades two dung forks and four axes To Have and To Hold the aforegoing granted and sold property as mentioned and described herein unto the Said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever Provided always and these presents are upon this condition that if the Said party of the first part Shall well and truly pay his promissory note bearing even date herewith given to the said party of the second part for the sum of Six hundred and Sixty nine dollars lawful money as aforesaid according to the term of Said note then these presents shall be void with every part and parcel thereof In witness whereof the Said party of the first part to these presents has hereunto set his hand and Seal the day and year first above and within written William K.
