164 presents the receipt whereof I the Said Benjamin G. Tubman do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and Sold and by these presents do grant bargain and Sell unto the said Reuben S. Tall his Executors administrators and assigns all the goods chattels and personal property hereinafter particularly mentioned and expressed that is to say: The Printing press type cases furniture and Materials in the office of the Cambridge Chronicle newspaper all and Singular which said goods chattels and personal property are now remaining standing and being in a certain messuage or tenement situate in the town of cambridge and now in the occupation of the said Reuben S. Tall. To Have and To Hold all and Singular the said printing press type cases furniture and materials and other the premises above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the said Reubin S. Tall his Executors Administrators and assigns forever. And I the said Benjamin G. Tubman for myself my heirs executors and administrators all and singular the Said printing press type cases furniture and materials and other the premises unto the said Reuben S. Tall his Executors administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever Shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof I the Said Benjamin G. Tubman have hereunto set my hand and Seal on this 21st day of June eighteen hundred and fifty five Signed Sealed and delivered B. Gaither Tubman (seal) in the presence of Charles F. Goldsborough State of Maryland Dorchester County Sct: On this 21st day of June in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty five before the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the ^state and^ County aforesaid personally appeared Benjamin G. Tubman party grantor in the within and aforegoing bill of Sale or instrument of writing and acknowledged the Same to be his act and deed. And at the Same time and place also appeared before me Rueben S. Tall party grantee in Said bill of Sale named and made oath that the consideration therein set forth is true and bona fide as therein Set forth. In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year aforesaid W.m D. Barrow J. P. Received the 21st day of June 1855 of Reuben S. Tall the Sum of one Dollar in lieu of a stamp on this Bill of Sale Francis J. Henry Clk Delivered to R. S. Tall July 6 1838 Traverse Spicer Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that the following √ from xd receipt was received and recorded on the 6th day of July in the year Ann H. Grieves & of our Lord One thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Five to wit: Horatio G. Grieves Oct. 17. 1854 Received from Capt. Traverse Spicer the Sum of Four Hundred Dollars being in full for a negro boy named Adam Sold to Said Spicer this day as a Slave for life Ann H. Grieves H G Grieves |
