State of Maryland Dorchester County Sc
                         On this fifth day of September Eighteen hundred and fifty four personally appeared Richard
A. Keene of Dorchester county aforesaid party bargainor in the aforegoing mortgage before the subscriber a Justice
of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for Dorchester County aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be
his act and deed and at the same time and place also appeared before me the subscriber as aforesaid William C.
Huffington the mortgagee in the Said Bill of Sale named and made oath that the consideration set forth in
the said mortgage is true and bona fide as therein set forth.

Eliza Williams                        Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that the following Bill of Sale was received
Paid   From                           & recorded on the fourth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
Eliza S. Hooper Guardian      hundred & fifty four to wit:
to Joseph H. Hooper                                          Know all men by these presents that I Eliza S. Hooper Guardian
                                              to Joseph H. Hooper of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for and in consideration
of the Sum of Six Hundred and fifty Dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Mrs. Eliza Williams wife of
D.r Thomas H. Williams of the Same County and State aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents
the receipt whereof I the said Eliza S. Hooper Guardian as aforesaid do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained
sold and delivered and by these presents do grant bargain sell & deliver unto the said Eliza Williams her heirs
executors administrators and assigns one negro woman named Lilly about Eighteen years of age as slave for life and
her infant male Child named Frank about Five Months old a slave for life.  To Have and To Hold the
said negro woman Lilly and her infant male child named Frank as above bargained and sold or mentioned or intended
so to be to the said Eliza Williams her heirs executors administrators and assigns forever:  and I the said Eliza S. Hooper
Guardian as aforesaid for myself my heirs executors and administrators all and singular the said negroes as above
bargained and sold unto the said Eliza Williams her executors administrators and assigns against me the said Eliza
S. Hooper Guardian as aforesaid and against my Executors and administrators and against all and every other person and
persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents
   
          In Testimony whereof the said Eliza S. Hooper Guardian to Joseph H. Hooper hath hereunto subscribed her name
and affixed her seal this fourth day of October Eighteen hundred and fifty four

Maryland Dorchester County to wit:  Be it remembered that on this fourth day of October in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and fifty four personally appeared before me the subscriber a justice of the Peace in
and for the County and state aforesaid the within named Eliza S. Hooper Guardian to Joseph H. Hooper and acknowledges
the within Bill of Sale or instrument of writing to be her act and deed according to the purport true intent
and meaning of the same.  At the Same time came before Justice of the Peace as aforesaid the within named Eliza Williams
party Grantee within mentioned and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the Consideration
set forth in this Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein Set forth

State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit:
                      I hereby Certify that William D. Barrow Esquire before whom the within acknowledgment appears
to have been made and who hath thereto subscribed his name was at the time of taking and signing the
same one of the State of Marylands Justices of the Peace in and for Dorchester County aforesaid duly
Commissioned and Sworn.
