129 (County) In Testimony whereof I hereto Subscribe my name and affix the seal of the Circuit Court for ( seal ) Dorchester County this fourth day of October Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and fifty four Francis J. Henry Clk Received the 4th day of October 1854 of Eliza Williams the Sum of One Dollar in lieu of a Stamp on this Bill of Sale F. J. Henry Clk John D. Parker Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill of √ from Exam.d Sale was received and recorded on the 11th day of September in the year of Levin W. Stewart acting admr our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and fifty four to wit: of Henry Maguire Know all men by these presents that I L. W. Stewart acting administrator of Henry Maguire deceased Late of Dorchester county in the state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred and ten dollars and fifty Cents current money to me in hand paid by John D. Parker of County and State aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained & sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said John D. Parker his executors administrators and assigns one negro woman Phebe now aged thirty three to serve as a slave untill she attains the age of forty five years there to be free under the will of said Henry Maguire also girl Rebecca now two years old to serve as a slave for life also boy Anthony now four years and one month old to serve as a slave untill he attains to the age of forty five years then to be free under the will of said Maguire: also girl ^Susan^ Emily now two months old to serve as a slave untill she attains the age of forty five years then to be free under the will of the said Henry Maguire All of which negroes were slaves for life to the said Henry Maguire deceased but by his will freed at the age of forty five years except Rebecca. To Have and To Hold the said negroes unto him the Said John D. Parker his executors administrators and assigns for the times above mentioned and no longer In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this thirty first day of August eighteen hundred and fifty four Signed Sealed and delivered L. W. Stewart acting Administrator (seal) in presence of Uriah McGuire passive do (seal) W.m R. Tall his John D. x Parker (seal) mark State of Maryland Dorchester County On this thirty first day of August eighteen hundred and fifty four personally appeared before me W.m R. Tall a Justice of the peace in and for Said County & state L. W. Stewart and Uriah Maguire and John D. Parker known to me to be the persons mentioned and described as and purporting to be the Seller and buyer in foregoing Bill of Sale and severally acknowledged that they did execute the same for the uses & purposes therein mentioned At the same time the said John D. Parker made Oath before me on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in said bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth W.m R.
