Dorchester County Sc.   Be it remembered that on this 6.th day of June
1849, personally appears Sarah Pattison, party to the within instrument
of writing before me the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace of the state
of Maryland for the said County, and Acknowledges the same to be her
Act & deed for the purposes therein mentioned.

John M Frazier          Be it remembered that the following Bill of
       from      Ex.d      Sale was recorded on the 12.th day of June 1849, To wit:
James M. Jones         This Indenture made this fourth day of June in
Paid                           the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred & forty nine,
between James M. Jones of Dorchester and state of Maryland of the one
part, and John M. Frazier of Dorchester County and state aforesaid of the
other part.  Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said James M.
Jones, for and in consideration of the sum of Fifteen hundred & 50
dollars, current money, to him in hand paid by the said John M.
Frazier, at or before the sealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt
whereof the said James M. Jones doth hereby acknowledge, and thereof
and therefrom doth acquit, release, exonerate & forever discharge the
said John M. Frazier, his heirs, executors and Administrators and
every of them by these presents, hath granted, bargained & sold, and by
these presents doth grant, bargain & sell unto John M. Frazier, his
executors, Administrators & assigns, all & singular the Press, Type &
Fixtures hereinafter particularly mentioned and expressed; (that is
to say) all the Press, Type, fixtures and all the appertenances relating
or appertaining to the Chronicle Office now standing & being in the
Brick House on the corner of High & Poplar Streets in the Town
of Cambridge, which said House is now in the occupancy of James
M. Jones as an Office.  To have and to hold all & singular the said
Press, Type, Fixtures and other appertenances herein before granted
bargained & sold, or mentioned or intended so to be, unto the said John
M. Frazier, his executors, Administrators & Assigns, to the only proper
use & behoof of the said John M. Frazier, his executors, Administrators
and Assigns forever.  And the said James M. Jones, for himself, his
executors and Administrators, all & singular the said Press, Type, Fixtures
& other Appertenances, by these presents granted, bargained & sold,
and every part thereof, unto the said John M. Frazier, his executors,
Administrators & assigns, against him the said James M. Jones, his
executors, Administrators, and against all & every other person & persons
whatsoever, shall & will warrant & forever defend by these presents.
In Witness whereof the said James M. Jones hath hereto set his name and
affixed his seal the day & date within written
Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of            James M. Jones   (Seal)
