Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit:  On the 4.th day of June in the
year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred & forty nine, personally appeared
before me, a Justice of the Peace in & for said County, James M. Jones,
party grantor, and acknowledged the within & aforegoing bill of sale to
be his Act & deed, according to the purport, true intent & meaning of
the same; and at the same time came before me John M. Frazier,
party grantee within mentioned, and made Oath on the Holy Evangely
of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in this Bill of
Sale is true and bona fide, as therein set forth, according to the true
meaning of the Act of Assembly of 1846 Chapter 271, made and
provided.         Acknowledged before         Charles Corkran J. Peace.

1849 June 12.th Rec.d of John M. Frazier one dollar in lieu of a
Stamp on this Bill of sale.                                    Wm Jackson Clk



State of Maryland                    {Stamp}      Be it remembered that the following Bond
Ex.d      from         50          {Six Dollars}   was recorded on the 25 day of June 1849
William Creighton & others      to wit:
                                                          Know all men by these presents, that we William
Creighton, William Rea, John R. Creighton of Dorchester County in the State of
Maryland are held and bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just
sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars current money of the United States to be paid
to the State of Maryland which payment well and truly to be made and done  We
bind Ourselves and every of us Our and Every of Our heirs, Executors and Administrators
in the whole and for the whole jointly and severally by these presents.  Sealed with Our Seals
in and dated this 20th day of June in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred
and forty nine.  The Conditions are Such that if the above bounden William Creighton
shall well and faithfully discharge the duties of Treasurer of the Primary Schools of
Dorchester County according to Law, then the above obligation that be void otherwise
it is to be and remain in full force and virtue in Law

James A Stewart      Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was
Ex.d      from  75      recorded on the 22d day of June 1849  To wit:
James Thomas          Know all men by these presents that I James Thomas
                                of Dorchester County for and in Consideration of the sum
of one Dollar to me in hand paid by James A. Stewart have given, granted bargained
and sold and by these presents do give grant bargain and sell unto the said James
