178 Joseph Bradshaw Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was recorded from Ex.d on the 1.st day of January 1844. To wit: Waitman Bryan Know all men by these presents that I Waitman Bryan of Dorchester County and state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and eighty dollars current money to me in hand paid by Joseph Bradshaw of Dorchester County in the state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Waitman Bryan do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Joseph Bradshaw his executors, administrators and assigns all the following property To wit: one black Horse, one roan mare, eight head of cattle, one horse cart two sows and twelve pigs, one shoot, one plough, one Harrow, three Beds, bedsteads and furniture, one weavers loom and gear, two cutting axes, all the balance of my household and kitchen furniture, five barrels of corn and three thousand pounds of blade fodder All and singular which said goods and chattels are now remaining standing and being in a certain Messuage or tenement situate in Dorchester County near Chateau and now in the occupancy of the said Waitman Bryan. To have and to hold all and singular the Stock, household and kitchen furniture, corn & fodder, farming implements, and stuff and other the premises above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the said Joseph Bradshaw his executors, administrators and assigns forever. And I the said Waitman Bryan for myself my heirs, executors and administrators all and singular the said Stock, household and kitchen furniture, corn and fodder, farming implements and stuff and other the premises unto the said Joseph Bradshaw his executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents of all and singular which said goods, stock, household and kitchen furniture, corn and fodder, farming implements and stuff and other the premises, I the said Waitman Bryan have put the said Joseph Bradshaw in full possession by delivering to him the said Joseph Bradshaw one black Horse at the sealing and delivering of these presents in the name of the whole premises hereby bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be unto him the said Joseph Bradshaw as aforesaid. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 26.th day of December 1843 signed sealed and delivered his in presence of Waitman x Bryan (seale) Charles Corkran mark Tho. H. Hicks. Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: on the 26.th day of December in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty three before me one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County appears Waitman Bryan and acknowledges the foregoing writing and bill of Sale to be his act and deed and delivered the same for the purposes therein mentioned according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided Charles Corkran |
