5-107. DUTIES AND REPORTS BY UNITS.

(A)     DUTIES.

(1)      EACH UNIT SUBJECT TO THIS TITLE SHALL ADOPT AND MAINTAIN
PROCEDURES, CONDUCT CONTINUOUS ACTIVITIES AND PROJECTS, AND TAKE
OTHER APPROPRIATE MEASURES TO CARRY OUT THIS TITLE.

(2)      THE SECRETARY SHALL ADMINISTER A PROGRAM TO ASSIST THOSE
UNITS IN CARRYING OUT THIS TITLE.

(B)     REPORTS.

(1)      EACH UNIT SUBJECT TO THIS TITLE SHALL REPORT QUARTERLY TO
THE SECRETARY ON THE PROCEDURES, ACTIVITIES, PROJECTS, AND OTHER
EFFORTS UNDERTAKEN TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS TITLE.

(2)      THE REPORTS SHALL:

(I)      DOCUMENT THE EXTENT TO WHICH THE REQUIREMENTS
HAVE BEEN FULFILLED; AND

(II)     EXPLAIN ANY IMPEDIMENTS TO COMPLIANCE WITH THIS TITLE
AND MEASURES TAKEN TO REMOVE THOSE IMPEDIMENTS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 64A, § 51(c) and (d).

In subsections (a)(1) and (b)(1) of this section, the references to "unit[s]
subject to this title" are substituted for the former, limited reference to
"executive" units. This substitution conforms to § 5-102(b) of this title, which
allows the Secretary to extend this title to "any unit in the legislative or
judicial branch".

GENERAL REVISOR'S NOTE TO TITLE:

Former Art. 64A, § 51(j), which prohibited a unit from counting as part-time
employees those who worked less than the minimum number of hours specified "in
paragraph (a)(3) of this section", is deleted as obsolete in light of the repeal in 1988 of
paragraph (a)(3) and as unnecessary in light of the similar effect of the definition of
"part-time".
