REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 74, §
2(a).

In item (1) of this section, the phrase "on the form
that the Board provides" is standard language added to
conform to the practice of the Board.

In item (2) of this section, the former limitation
"based on the costs of administering the
apprenticeship program" is deleted as erroneous since
the fee is intended to cover the costs of the
application process rather than the costs of the
apprenticeship program. In practice, the Association
pays apprentice pilots during their apprenticeship.

11-305. PLACEMENT ON LIST OF QUALIFIED APPLICANTS; APPOINTMENT
OF APPRENTICE PILOTS.

(A)  PLACEMENT ON LIST.

THE BOARD SHALL PLACE THE NAME OF EACH APPLICANT WHO MEETS
THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SUBTITLE ON THE LIST OF QUALIFIED
APPLICANTS.

(B)  APPOINTMENT.

FROM THE LIST OF QUALIFIED APPLICANTS, THE BOARD MAY  CHOOSE

AND APPOINT THE NUMBER OF APPRENTICE PILOTS THAT THE     BOARD

CONSIDERS NECESSARY TO PROTECT THE COMMERCIAL INTERESTS   OF THE
STATE.

11-306. SCOPE OF APPRENTICESHIP.

APPOINTMENT AS AN APPRENTICE PILOT AUTHORIZES THE INDIVIDUAL
TO ENGAGE IN TRAINING, UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A LICENSED PILOT,
TO PROVIDE PILOTAGE.
