House Bill 1535, which was passed by the General Assembly
and signed by me on May 27, 1986, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 227.

AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws - Penalty for Overweight Vehicles

FOR the purpose of repealing a certain limitation on the penalty
for violation of certain vehicle weight restrictions on
posted bridges and culverts; making conforming changes; and
generally relating to certain penalties and fines for
vehicle weights.

Section 27-101(h)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1984 Replacement Volume and 1985 Supplement)

BY renumbering

Article - Transportation

Section 27-101(i) through (1), respectively

to be Section 27-101(h) through (k), respectively

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Transportation

27-101.

[(h) Any person who is convicted of violating a vehicle
weight restriction imposed pursuant to the provisions of § 24-206
("Authority of local authorities or State Highway Administration
to preserve bridges and culverts") is subject to a fine of not
more than $1,000.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED,. That Section(s)
27-101(i) through (1), respectively of Article - Transportation
