Section 10-410(b)

Annotated Code of   Maryland

(1983 Replacement   Volume and 1985 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Natural Resources

10-410.

(b) (1) A person may not hunt any game bird or mammal,
except FOX, raccoon [and], OR opossum, at nighttime.

(2) IF A PERSON HUNTS FOX, RACCOON, OR OPOSSUM AT

NIGHTTIME UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF PARAGRAPH (1) OF THIS
SUBSECTION, THE PERSON MAY USE ONLY THE FOLLOWING WEAPONS:

(I) A .22 RIMFIRE RIFLE OR PISTOL; OR .

(II) A SHOTGUN LOADED WITH SHOT THAT IS NOT
LARGER THAN BB PELLETS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1986.

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 227.

This bill repeals the maximum $1,000 fine for violating

weight restrictions on posted bridges and culverts. Another

existing section of law (Transportation 27-105) imposes fines for

this violation which vary according to the amount of excess
weight.
