       One farthing of the said purchase money from the said Bladen prays to be
       hence Dismist with his Reasonable Cost and Charges in this behalf Expended
       And the said William Bladen saith that on or about the Year of our Lord 1704
       Edward Dorsey Sen.r in the said Complain.ts Bill mentioned sold unto this Defd.t
       and Charles Carroll Esq severall Lotts and houses in a Certain place called Bloomsberrys
       Square in the Towne of Annapolis  And this Defend.t past his obligation
       to the said Dorsey for the payment of the whole purchase money being one hund.rd
       and fifty pounds sterl to him his Ex.rs Adm.rs or Assignes at three severall paym.ts
       Viz.t fifty pounds at the Departure of every of the then next London Fleets
       which bond was Antedated because of some accounts this Defend.t had right to
       Clayme from said Edward Dorsey to the End they might be allowed this Defd.t
       threout  And in very few days the said Col Dorsey Drew an order on this Defd.t
       to pay M.r John Brice Merch.t 22. sterling out of the first payment which
       this Defend.t accepted and said M.r Brice that in some small time after this
       Defend.t had past his bond as afd and before any payment due the Compl.t
       presented this Defend.t with an order from Col Edw.d Dorsey as this Defend.t
       remembers to pay the Compl.t on sight forty pounds sterl to which this Defd.t
       Answered he would not accept thereof for that he owed Col Dorsey nothing
       untill the going out of the next London Fleet or words to that Effect & meeting
       Col Dorsey with the honble Col John Hamond decd within a day or two at M.r
       John Freemans they both desired this Defend.t not to pay the money saying
       the Compl.t was an Idle Young Ladd and that he had over reached his
       Father or words to that Effect after which the Compl.t severall times prest
       this Defend.t to accept the Note to pay it when the purchase money became
       due but this defend.t absolutely Refused (thô he cannot Remember whether
       whether he protested it in writing or not and besides the said 22. sterl
       advanced to the said Col Dorsey upwards of fifty pounds sterl more before
       any part of the purchase money became due which being Included in the
       account in the schedule hereunto anext amounts in the whole to the
       sum of                                                                        And further this
