          Hall and Vernon Depositions about Gadhill & Marshes Seat

       The Deposition of John Chappell about Sixty Years of Age who being
       Sworne in due forme saith that the stump of a Tree at the mouth of
       a Small Cove which he knew by the name of Selbys Cove about
       fifty Years agoe by which stump there is now a Ceder post sett up the
       which forementioned he the Depon.t declares that to the best of his
       Knowledge it was the stump of the second bounded Tree of the Tract of
       Land called Marsh Seat (which the Complainant also agreed to) and
       further the Deponent saith that to the best of his Remembrance he has
       seen a Notched Hiccory by the Creek Side near the place where the Reverse
       Course and Distance from the aforementioned second bounded Tree Terminates
       but further says that he knows not that it was the first bounded Tree
       of said Marsh Seat and further the Deponent went with us to a Bridge that
       was over the Runn of a Large Branch and Declared that that had gone
       by the name of Parkers Branch ever since he knew it and further the
       Deponent Declared that the survey he had mentioned in his Evidence
       when upon Examination with Cap.t Jones and Cap.t Towgood was made at
       the prayer of the Defend.t and further the Deponent saith not

       The Deposition of Thomas Knighton about thirty five Years of age
       who being sworne in due forme saith that about Twenty four Years agoe
       his father shewed him a Tree for the second bounded Tree of the Land Called
       Marsh Seat which he declares to the best of his knowledge it was the Tree
       whereof that was the stump which mentioned in the Deposition of John Chappell
       and that the aforementioned Cove mentioned foresaid Deposition he allways
       Knew by the name of Selbys Cove and further this Deponent Declare at the
       same place in a Large Branch mentioned in afd John Chappells Dep.n
       that ever since he cann Remember Said Branch has been knowne by the
       name of parkers Branch & further this Depon.t Saith not

       By Virtue and in obedience to a Comiss.n out of the high Court of Chancery Directed to us
       and herewith Returned to Examin Evidences Between John Hall Esq Compl.t & Christopher
       Vernon Defend.t in a Certain cause depending in said Court on part of the Defendant  Wee
       have therefore Examined said Evidences as by our Returne abovesaid Given under our
       hands and Seales the 11.th day of Octob.r 1711   James Stoddert   Abra Birckhead
